Dark radiation heating bulbs are very popular, because they don't give light. They are very efficient and low cost as all the power is transformed into warmth!
No light also means more rest for the young animals and this is far more natural than 24 hours light a day. Dark radiation heating bulbs are very durable, provided that they are treated in the right way.
Although the initial purchase costs are higher than those of a common heating bulb, the long lifetime of the first one will compensate them largely.

It is very important to use a ceramic fitting in combination with your dark radiation heating bulb for a synthetic fitting will melt. Dark radiation heating bulbs get very hot and therefore skin contact can cause burns.
